Coaching: our advice before skiing, during… and after!

The advice of Timothée Théaux before, during… and after skiing! Timothée Théaux, ski instructor at Val Thorens and a professional freerider, gives us his advice for a well prepared day on the slopes of the 3 Vallées.
BEFORE
“Before going skiing, I always read the BERA (Avalanche Risk Estimate Bulletin)
and the weather forecast to prepare my itinerary for the day. Then I consult the state of the PIDA (Avalanche Release Action Plan) to know which slopes and links are open in the 3 Vallées.
DURING
“During my day out, I try not to forget to hydrate myself and eat right to enhance my energy level to the maximum throughout my day. I also use a lot of the following apps to find my way around our mountains: the maps on the 3 Vallées app and on IphiGénie the IGN maps.“
AFTER
“After the lifts have closed, I like to have a good time around a beer, debriefing, thinking back over the key passages of the day and preparing for the next one.”
